Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Zaruro platform, website, mobile application, and services. By using Zaruro, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. About Zaruro

Zaruro is a home services marketplace owned and operated by Human Before Resource Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with its registered office in Newtown, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Zaruro connects customers with background-verified independent service professionals for home services including cleaning, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and more.

2. Eligibility

By using our platform, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
• You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• You are not barred from using our services under applicable law
• All information you provide is accurate, current, and complete
• You are using the platform for legitimate home service needs and not for any commercial resale or unauthorized purpose

3. Account Registration

To book services, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Providing accurate and up-to-date contact information (phone number and email)

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

4. Services and Bookings

4.1 Service Availability

Services are available only in specified geographic areas. We continuously expand coverage but cannot guarantee service availability in all locations.

4.2 Booking Process

When you book a service:

• You will see the total price upfront, including any applicable taxes and fees
• You authorize us to charge the payment method on file upon booking confirmation
• A service professional will be assigned to your booking based on availability, location, and service requirements
• You will receive booking confirmation, reminders, and updates via SMS and email

4.3 Cancellation and Rescheduling

Cancellation policies vary by service type:

• Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment
• Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a nominal fee
• Rescheduling is subject to professional availability
• Repeated last-minute cancellations may result in account restrictions

5. Payments and Pricing

• All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise
• Payment is processed at the time of booking through our secure payment partner Cashfree
• Accepted payment methods: UPI, debit cards, credit cards, net banking, and wallets
• Refunds, if applicable, will be processed to the original payment method within 7-10 business days
• Promotional discounts and coupon codes are subject to terms and expiry dates

6. Service Professional Conduct

All professionals on Zaruro undergo identity verification and background screening. However, professionals are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Zaruro. Zaruro is not liable for the conduct of service professionals during the performance of services. If you experience unsatisfactory service, please raise a concern through our support page and we will mediate in good faith.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Create false, fraudulent, or duplicate accounts
• Harass, threaten, or abuse service professionals or other users
• Submit false or misleading booking information
• Attempt to circumvent our booking or payment systems
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the platform without our written permission
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Zaruro platform — including trademarks, logos, text, graphics, software, and design — is owned by Human Before Resource Private Limited or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Zaruro is a marketplace platform and is not directly liable for the quality, safety, or legality of services performed by independent professionals
• Zaruro's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the platform is limited to the amount paid by you for the specific booking giving rise to the claim
• Zaruro is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• This limitation does not apply to liability for death, personal injury, or fraud

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Human Before Resource Private Limited, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the platform, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the platform at any time, without prior notice, for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or conduct that harms other users or our platform. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Sections 8, 9, 10, and 12 shall survive termination.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or platform notice. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the platform.
